Overview

REVIX is a business management system built for freelancers and service providers in Nigeria and beyond. We take your privacy seriously and we have written this policy in plain language so you actually understand what we do with your information.

This Privacy Policy applies to all services offered through the REVIX platform, including our website at joinrevix.com, our web application at app.joinrevix.com, and any communications we send you by email or WhatsApp.

The short version: We collect only what we need to provide the REVIX service, we do not sell your data to anyone, and you are always in control of what you share with us.

By creating a REVIX account or using any part of the REVIX platform you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use REVIX.

Information We Collect

We collect information that you give us directly when you use REVIX, and some information automatically when you interact with the platform.

Information You Give Us Directly

  • Your full name and email address when you create an account
  • Your business name, which is optional but used on invoices if provided
  • Your WhatsApp number, if you choose to connect it for reminders
  • Payment information processed by Paystack when you subscribe. We do not store your card details, Paystack handles all payment data on their secure servers
  • Client information you add to REVIX including client names, phone numbers, email addresses, and notes
  • Invoice details including amounts, due dates, and payment status
  • Task and project information you create within the platform
  • Any files, links, or resources you attach to projects

Information We Collect Automatically

  • Your IP address and approximate location at the country level
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Pages you visit within the REVIX platform and how long you spend on them
  • Actions you take inside the app such as creating a client or sending an invoice
  • Error logs and crash reports that help us identify and fix technical issues

Information From Third Parties

  • If you sign up using Google OAuth we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google as permitted by your Google account settings
  • Payment and subscription status from Paystack when your billing events occur

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve the REVIX service.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party under any circumstances. We share your data only in the limited situations described below.

Service Providers

We share data with trusted third-party services that help us operate REVIX. Each of these providers is contractually required to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by Nigerian law, a court order, or a legitimate legal process. We will notify you of any such request where legally permitted to do so.

Business Transfer

If REVIX is acquired by or merged with another company your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Important: When you use REVIX to send invoice reminders or payment notifications to your clients, you are sharing your client's contact data with us for that purpose. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share your clients' contact information with REVIX and that your clients are aware they may receive messages on your behalf.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored with the following protections in place:

  • Row-level security policies ensure your data is only accessible by your own account and cannot be accessed by other REVIX users
  • All data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard encryption
  • Authentication is handled securely with support for secure password hashing and OAuth tokens
  • API keys and sensitive credentials are stored as server-side environment variables and are never exposed
  • Access to production systems is restricted to authorised REVIX team members only

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account remains active. If you cancel your subscription your account data is retained for 90 days in case you decide to reactivate. After 90 days of inactivity following cancellation we delete your personal data from our active systems.

Some data may be retained in backup systems for up to 12 months before permanent deletion. Anonymised and aggregated usage statistics that cannot be linked back to you may be retained indefinitely for product improvement purposes.

No System Is Perfect

While we take every reasonable step to protect your data, no system is completely secure. If a data breach occurs that affects your personal information we will notify you within 72 hours of becoming aware of it and provide guidance on steps you can take to protect yourself.

Communications

REVIX sends several types of communications and you have control over most of them.

Transactional Messages

These are messages directly related to your use of the service. You cannot opt out of these while your account is active because they are essential to the service working correctly. They include account confirmation emails, password reset emails, subscription receipts, and security alerts.

Reminder Notifications

These are the task and invoice reminders that REVIX sends to help you stay on top of your business. You can enable or disable email reminders and WhatsApp reminders independently from your Settings page inside the REVIX app at any time.

Client Notifications

When you set up automatic payment reminders for your clients REVIX sends messages to your clients on your behalf. These messages come from REVIX but contain your business name. You control which clients receive these messages and can disable them at any time from the invoice settings.

Product Updates and Announcements

Occasionally we send emails about new REVIX features, events, or important updates. You can opt out of these at any time by toggling off Product Updates and Announcements in your Settings page or by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to access: You can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you at any time
  • Right to correction: You can update your name, email, WhatsApp number, and business name directly from your Settings page inside REVIX
  • Right to deletion: You can request that we delete your account and all associated personal data by contacting us at hello@userevix.com. We will process your request within 30 days
  • Right to portability: You can request an export of your data in a machine-readable format
  • Right to restrict processing: You can ask us to stop processing your data in certain circumstances while a dispute is being resolved
  • Right to withdraw consent: Where we process your data based on consent such as for marketing emails you can withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing

To exercise any of these rights contact us at hello@joinrevix.com. We will respond to all requests within 30 days. In complex cases we may extend this to 60 days and will inform you accordingly.

Deleting your account: When you delete your REVIX account all your clients, invoices, tasks, and projects are permanently removed from our active systems. This action cannot be undone. If you have an active subscription you should cancel it from Settings before deleting your account to avoid further charges.

Cookies

REVIX uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep the platform working correctly.

Essential Cookies

These are necessary for the platform to function and cannot be disabled. They include the authentication token that keeps you logged in between sessions and a session identifier that maintains your state as you navigate the app.

Analytics

We may use anonymised usage data to understand how users interact with REVIX so we can improve the product. This data is not linked to your identity and is not shared with advertising networks.

Third-Party Services

REVIX integrates with third-party services to provide certain features. When you use these integrations the relevant third-party privacy policies also apply to how they handle your data.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services. We encourage you to review their policies when you connect these services to REVIX.

Children

REVIX is a business management platform designed for adults operating service businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18.

If you believe a person under 18 has created a REVIX account please contact us at hello@joinrevix.com and we will promptly delete the account and all associated data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as REVIX grows and as legal requirements evolve. When we make significant changes we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

For minor changes such as clarifications or corrections we will update the Last Updated date at the top of this page and make the updated version available on joinrevix.com/privacy.

Your continued use of REVIX after any changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree with the changes you can cancel your account before they take effect.
